Private Jet Guide: Cessna Citation Latitude
Overview Summary
One of the newest aircraft within Cessna’s fleet, the Latitude offers similarities with the the popular XLS, with a newly designed fuselage and the faster angled wing seen on the larger classed Citation Sovereign. The modern Latitude is setting a new standard for what the midsize class will look like, with a spacious cabin and flat floor, full standing headroom and excellent short runway performance.
Add intelligent innovation, class-leading performance, a spacious cabin and standard equipment that steps above midsize expectations. All of this at a price for performance other jets cannot match. The Citation Latitude offers a wide, flat-floor with a 6-foot stand-up cabin at a midsize price. Coupled with a range to take you 2,700 nm, you can fly nonstop from Los Angeles to New York or Geneva to Dubai. There’s a reason it’s the best-selling midsize business jet for the last three years.
The Citation Latitude jet is the first aircraft in its class to push the comfort level while keeping you connected. A low cabin altitude keeps you feeling refreshed while the class-leading baggage compartment is spacious enough to accommodate your luggage wherever you’re going, whether for business or pleasure.
Comfort and Onboard Features
The Cessana Citation Latitude presents both passengers, and crew with comfort and industry leading technology. With extensive space in the cabin, passengers can enjoy a vast array of cabin configurations. The new and updating seating design offers increased space for carry-on luggage and bags to be stored without interuption to comfort or safety. New, folding arm rests provide increased “thigh space”, once again, promoting cabin comfort. Integrated and smart LED lighting increases the already, naturally light cabin. An enclosed lavatory is found at the rear of the cabin. Extensive hold storage allows passengers to travel with good amounts of both carry-on and hold luggage.
There’s more than high-tech lighting for your “inner nerd” to love on the Latitude. Passengers increasingly want the latest and greatest electronic options regardless of cabin size, especially on longer flights. In a midsize aircraft, this presents challenges in terms of both space and weight. Cessna plans to address the issue by incorporating the black boxes for the new Clairity cabin-management and IFE systems into the aircraft’s Garmin G5000 avionics system. The G5000 in the Latitude’s cockpit features three 14-inch LCD primary and multifunction displays and four touch-screen control panels. It includes synthetic-vision technology, electronic charts, the safe-taxi system, a dual flight-management system, precision GPS landing technology, solid-state weather radar with turbulence detection and vertical scan capability, an integrated terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS), and data link. Satellite weather is optional.
